Meet the Instructor

Behind Caloundra Karate is a dedicated instructor - Matt. (Shodan, Jun-Shidoin)

Matt started training with Sunshine Coast Karate in 2000, and has studied Chito-Ryu Karate-Do ever since. Matt was a Soke Cup participant in 2004, and a medallist and referee in 2026. Matt has been assisting with teaching Karate for many years, and is very excited to embark on his new journey as owner and instructor at Caloundra Karate. Matt has two children in their 20’s, and lives on the Sunshine Coast. Outside of Karate, he loves the beach, reading, and spending time with his family.
